Recently Bad Elster, one of the oldest german mud-bath resorts was celebrating it´s 150th anniversary as the "Saxonian State Spa". During their time the saxonian royal family liked to stay at their state spa, which explains, why at present the bath house is now called "Albert Bad" Today, the medical baths offer visitors healing and relaxation facilities, a broad spectrum of cultural events, sports and recreation facilities and plenty of silence.
Bad Elster, 446 m above sea level, Saxony´s southernmost town, is situated in the triangel between Czech Repunlic, Bavaria and Saxony.
The densely wooded region of the "Elstergebirge", which hills rise up to 650 m, protects the resort, which is situated in a valley, against extreme fluctuations of tremperature and creates a mild bracing climate all year round.
